Calling all artists and craftsfolk!

The Friends of Woodland Community Library invite you to display your work for sale to the public in the first annual “Art in Horseshoe Park” art show!

The show will be held in Woodland’s Horseshoe Lake Park on Saturday, September 6, 10:00am-6:00pm (rain location: the Middle School/High School Commons). You are welcome to submit your own handmade art and craft items. The $40 entry fee benefits the Friends of Woodland Community Library, with half of it being tax deductible. Proceeds from all sales belong entirely to the artist. The day of the show will be a fun community event that should draw good crowds, including food vendors, entertainment, and children’s activities.

To apply, download the Art in Horseshoe Park Artist’s Application. You can also find printed applications in the library and in many area art and craft stores. Fill out the form, and either return it in person to the Woodland Community Library (770 Park St.), or mail it to the Friends c/o the library:

We would love to see you in the park!

Friends Summer Reading Ice Cream Social 2007!

The Friends of Woodland Community Library support the library with volunteer time and energy to raise funds and promote library events and services. Friends’ fundraisers provide for annual events like the Summer Reading Ice Cream Social (see the picture above from 2007!), or special programs or equipment that the library could not afford otherwise.

Our primary focus right now remains the building fund, so that the people of Woodland can enjoy a library large enough to accommodate everyone’s needs for computing, reading, studying, and gathering.

Read more about who we are and what we do on the “About” page. Find our upcoming events on the “Projects” page. See more pictures on the “Photo Album” page. Come and join us!
