Your Woodland Community Library!

About the Library

Woodland Community Library serves the people of Woodland, Washington as one of thirteen branches in the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District (FVRL). Woodland citizens voted to join FVRL in 1996, and the relationship became official in 1997. Membership in the district brings a wealth of resources, from access to wide-ranging collections of books and audio/video materials, to expert information services and a sophisticated website.

If you live, or own property or a business, anywhere in Clark, Skamania or Klickitat Counties, or in the Woodland city limits or the Yale precinct, you can get a Fort Vancouver Regional Library card for free that is good anywhere in the district. You can even use your card as a “reciprocal” guest in the Multnomah County, Longview, and Kelso libraries.

About the Friends

The Friends of Woodland Community Library represent a 501(c)3 organization under the umbrella of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation. Funds raised by the Friends provide for items and services not otherwise available from the library’s regular budget, such as refreshments for public events, special performers, equipment or furniture–or a new library building!

A new building is our main goal. Our current library is historical and charming (it will be 100 years old in 2009!). However, at less than 2400 square feet on two floors–with no elevator!–with iffy wiring, plumbing, heating and cooling, it’s time for the people of our growing city to enjoy a more spacious, comfortable, and up-to-date library.

Our Mission

  • We seek to strengthen Woodland Libraries’ value to the communities it serves.
  • We pursue and secure donations, funding and endowments beyond the scope of the library district’s operating budget.
  • We fund additional projects and services for all ages including children, teens, and seniors.
  • We inspire community interest and involvement.

Our Vision

We strive to build public and private initiatives that provide opportunities to enrich life-long learning throughout our community. We make a good library great.

Join Us!

We welcome you to join us. Dues are just $5 per year, and you can be as active in the organization as you want, to fit your own schedule. We meet once a month, on the last Thursday at 7:00pm in the library. Every year we host an Ice Cream Social to celebrate the Summer Reading Program, and hold a used book sale every November. We work on other creative fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Come share the vision!

[Download this form once we've scanned and uploaded it], fill it out and return with your dues to the library. Feel free to call the library at 225-2115 with any questions. We look forward to celebrating the library with you!
